a wish for each of you

Here it is wet and slushy and grey and yet my heart is festive. Though visions of sugarplums there are none -- my mind keeps straying to roses.

"God gave us our memories so that we might have roses in December."
                              --J. M. Barrie

Sharifa Asma, David Austin, English Roses, Pink Rose, Anne Butera, My Giant Strawberry

I can't really argue with that.

And so, I wish for you, beauty and peace and joy and love. Whatever you have planned for today and tomorrow. However you may be celebrating, or not. May you be filled up and content. Grateful for life's wonders. Enjoying the beauty of the day, but also, remembering... remembering the roses of your life, both real and metaphorical.

"In the midst of winter, I found that there was, within me, an invincible summer."
                              --Albert Camus

May the same be true for you.

  1. Hello Anne. I just read Laurie's interview of you and wanted to come see your blog. It's as beautiful as the images in her post. I'm so happy to have found you and I'm following you via Bloglovin'. Your watercolors are just wonderful. The quotes in this post are wonderful, too. Very uplifting. Thanks for making my day so special. So very glad I came here. I wish you a beautiful Christmas. ~ Nancy
