gratitude -- a spring song
I've been feeling a welling up of gratitude. For the littlest things. Beauty. Grace.
- the perfection of a rainy day after getting seedlings and seeds planted in the garden
- soup made from asparagus from the farm
- peonies
- lily of the valley
- birdsong
- my sketchbook
- black micron pens
- washing all the blankets and throws and arranging them on chairs and sofas
- sewing some new pillow covers (repurposing the crate toppers I made when we first brought home the boys)
- snuggling up beneath a quilt and reading a favorite book
- cup after cup of tea
Of course, I'm grateful for the bigger things, too, but the small things are what often get overshadowed. They need to be celebrated. They need their song.
Wishing you much to sing about.
I love asparagus and would love the chance to tuck in to that lovely bowl of soup! The flowers are gorgeous and so is your vibrant and colourful home. Can I move in?!!! Wishing you a wonderful week. :-)
ReplyDeleteAwww... thank you, Simone. Would love to have you stop by for a bowl of soup. At least we can visit virtually. :)

Thank you, Carla! Hope you had a good week!
DeleteYour living room looks so cheerful and cozy! I would love to snuggle up and read a good book there.
ReplyDeletePS I'm grateful for Micron pens, too. ;)
Thank you, Laurie! It's been fun to slowly transform the colors in the living room. Painting furniture. Painting the walls. Adding other little bits. I hope you're enjoying nesting in your new home!
DeleteSo beautiful!
