Stylish Blogger Awards
Wow! I was given a Stylish Blogger Award by the sweet Pavinee from Merry Day. I've been following her blog since Art Every Day Month and always enjoy seeing the illustrations that she's been creating. Her work is really beautiful and fun. I was so surprised and excited to receive the award. Thanks so much Pavinee!
I had another post planned for today, but I need to fulfill the terms of my award!
One responsibility as a Stylish Blogger is to "pay it forward" and give awards to 15 recently (recent is a relative term, right?) discovered stylish blogs. They're all full of plenty of inspiration, I'm sure you'll agree!

Another part of my award is to tell you 7 things about myself. Here goes:
1. I am a fabric addict. Ok, not just fabric, but all sorts of craft supplies. Yarn, crochet thread, jewelry supplies, buttons...
2. In college I volunteered at the county jail teaching creative writing to a group of female inmates.
3. I have four tattoos and still want more, though my tattoo partner-in-crime now lives far away and I don't think it would be as much fun to go by myself.
4. I love to read and to listen to audiobooks. I always check out more books from the library than I can possibly ever read.
5. When I was 4 years old I played the violin at Orchestra Hall in Chicago with my Suzuki class. I don't play any instruments now, though I did play the flute in grade school (and it's upstairs in my closet...)
6. I love eating and cooking food. I'm not at all a picky eater, though for 7+ years I was a vegetarian.
7. I love roses. Really, I love all flowers, but roses might just be my favorite. The more fragrance and the more petals, the better. I have lots planted in my Cleveland garden (I've lost count how actually) and am sad that I won't be able to grow quite as many varieties now that I'm living in Zone 4.
Ok. That's all. I have more to share but not right now. I did finish some projects (but didn't photograph them yet) and I am REALLY excited about some necklaces that are in the works. Hope to show you soon.

this is the newest; it's on the inside of my left wrist |

ReplyDeleteI really enjoy reading your list and getting to know you a little more! I am also a fabric and craft supplies addict, i have only one tattoo but im thinking of getting or expanding the one i already have. I also adore cooking and love roses. :) I guess we have a few things in common. WIshing you a lovely merry happy weekend and love to you sweet friend!
I love your new tattoo..we have alot in common..thank you so much for nominating me..I will be posting my list tomorrow..;-)
ReplyDeleteHey Anna! I love your wee list, so nice to read a little bit more about you. I LOVE your tattoo...so full of meaning (it's a strawberry plant? my plant knowledge is not brilliant!) and so unique. I designed my one and only tattoo and got it done by a budhist monk (who did tattoos every now and then!)on my travels in Australia. Its around my belly button and has expanded and shrunk with my babes :)
ReplyDeleteThankyou so much for the award..I am so honoured! Now I have to think about 7 things to reveal about myself!! :)x
You have the prettiest tattoo! Roses are gorgeous, and I love the photo you posted. Was this from your own garden (old or new)?
ReplyDeleteThanks for including me. <3
Hi, Anne!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the Stylish Blogger Award. I am honored!
I have been working hard on the website. I am glad to have everything in one place. I do like Wordpress, although sometimes it can be frustrating.
Happy New Year!!
Melissa
I love that picture of you when you were little. It's very cool that you volunteered to teach female inmates. Fun learning about you and also thanks. I reciprocate the award right back to you even though you got one cuz I had a list made of who I was going to give it to (cuz I got one) and you were on the list already! I always love seeing the beutiful things you make!
ReplyDeleteAnne, your blog is my favorite online destination. Thanks, for your help, your enthusiastic support, optimistic encouragement and constant creative ideas regarding mine. Stylish Blogger Award, wow!
ReplyDeleteMerci.
Thanks so much everyone! You are all inspiration to me!
ReplyDeleteJenny, I loved the story of your tattoo. So meaningful. No one ever knows what plant the one on my wrist is. It's a Japanese anemone. A really beautiful flower that blooms at the end of summer. The stem on the right wraps around to the front of my wrist with an open flower (people think it's a poppy or a rose, but it's not). I chose it because it's one of my favorite flowers in my garden and because it's a late bloomer; I'm a bit of a late bloomer, too.
SaraLynn, the rose photo is from my (old) garden. Sharifa Asma. Perhaps my most favorite David Austin rose. It smells so delicious.
Hi Anne, I loved reading your list and seeing your tattoo. Thanks for thinking of me, so sweet of you.
ReplyDeleteHey! Thanks for playing along and saying nice things about my work. I'm so glad :-D
ReplyDeleteI love roses too but it seems that I never have luck with growing flowers so I just draw my own roses LOL
Love your cute tattoo and glad to know you more ^-^
Nice read. Thanks for sharing. I like tattoos but I don't think I'll ever get one. I am too scared and indecisive... Yours is sweet. Never seen this design before. Thanks for the award :)
ReplyDeleteThank you sweetie! I´m truly honoured and grateful for the award.
ReplyDeleteCool list! Great to get to know you better.
Thank you! And you're welcome! This has been fun.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh thank you Anne for the Award! I am so happy to have met you in these past months. I will put something up on friday. Thanks again. You are very kind.
ReplyDeleteI recently got this award but haven't yet posted a formal acceptance (must get organised). I loved reading your answers and getting to know you better.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing your unphotographed work.
Kat X
