Happy Birthday PPF and the Story of a Painting
Three years ago Eva and Kristin hosted the very first Paint Party Friday. I had just started painting and was eager to take part in the weekly check-ins as a way to motivate me to keep painting. It was a lot of fun and it was inspiring and encouraging to me as a beginning painter. I met some wonderful people and for a while I partied with them most Fridays. It's fun to look back at my posts from those first few parties (here, here and here).
It has been a very long time since I've dropped by, but I felt like I couldn't miss the 3rd birthday party of this wonderful community. Thank you, Eva and Kristin! Thank you, also, to all of the Paint Partiers who have encouraged me along the way!
Now, on to the story of my painting.
There was once a red cyclamen. It was a little sad looking, but it wanted me to paint it. So I did.
The end.
........and very pleased it was too:)

You have captured the beauty and delicacy of the cyclamen so well. Your work is very precise but at the same time it captures the essentials of nature. Lovely. Happy PPF
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning! I was mesmerized by the progress. I learn something every time I take the time to really get into what an artist is showing on her/his art blog. Thanks.

ReplyDeleteI love to see the process of your painting, especially how you painted the leaves. You created such a beautiful image - that cyclamen can't be sad anymore!
ReplyDeleteLike the way it slowly takes shape and turns out to a 3D effect (especially the green leaves)
