Artist Profile -- Shannon Kinney-Düh
Meet Shannon.
I'm so excited to be introducing you to this amazing woman. She's a bit different than the other artists I've featured so far. You're not going to be able to go to her website and buy a piece of art to hang on your wall. Yes, Shannon is an artist; she's also a yoga instructor, a creative workshop leader, an e-book and e-course creator... the list goes on and on. She is a mother to three young boys and is passionate about inspiring other mothers to live creative, fulfilling lives while nurturing creativity in their children.
Even more exciting, she'll be leading an in-person retreat in Boulder this summer.
Thank you, Shannon, for helping to make the world a more beautiful, joyful, creative place.
I hope that all of you, my friends and readers, have been inspired a bit by her today.
Be sure not to miss the other posts in my Artists Series; they can be viewed here.

Every time I read her newsletter or visit her blog I feel moved and inspired. What she's creating really resonates with me. Her website is overflowing with beauty and joy. And I think that's the thing. She and I are on the same mission. To find and create joy and beauty everyday and to inspire others to do the same. The gift that she gives to the world is a belief that each of us has the capacity for creativity and that we all have the ability to live the lives we dream of. Those are very powerful concepts. In fact, those ideas can change your life. I know they changed mine.
I first "met" Shannon back when her site was Free Spirit Knits. It's been wonderful watching her and her site grow and change over the years. Always colorful. Always embracing and advocating the beauty of a messy, unique, authentic life. She is a constant inspiration.
As I prepared for this profile I went back through some of her blog posts and revisited her old website, too. I was reminded that back in 2011 she inspired me to participate in her 30 Days of Giving Thanks. Thinking back, I realize that challenge was one of the things that helped me to get back into blogging and get back on my path during a dark and difficult time in my life.
On her About page Shannon describes the lifestyle that is A Free Spirit Life. She writes: "It’s for those who want to create a life they truly love each and every day, while practicing contentment with how things are in this moment." Perfect, don't you think? We all have dreams. We all yearn for something more, but at the same time we only ever get this moment. We need to make the most of it.
If you visit either of her sites, there's a wealth of inspiration to be found. You could start here and see what I mean.
Interested in going further? Shannon's popular Inside Out E-Course is starting up again this month. Looks like it could help you get the year started off on the right foot.
