toads do it. slugs do it.

All the creeping crawling bugs do it.  My apologies to Cole Porter, but similar lines keep popping into my head every morning on my walks.  But I'm not thinking about toads and slugs and worms and millipedes and woolly bears falling in love.  I'm thinking about them crossing the road.  Because they do.  Every day.  Even on the cold, cold, cold days.  Even when it's really windy.  Even when it's cold AND windy.  Those woolly bears could barely move, but still, there they were creeping across the road.  One morning, and I wish I had my camera, there were slug trails all over the road.  Wiggly lines glittered silvery in the middle of the road and sure enough, there were slugs at the ends of them.  Why would slugs, of all creatures want to cross the road?  Everybody else is doing it...

Today when I was running around the front yard with Holden, playing our silly games, I noticed a dragonfly in the grass.  At first I thought it was dead.  I picked it up carefully, thinking it would make an interesting addition to my collection of natural bits and bobs that I'm always picking up.  But then I noticed that it was moving, just slightly.  I called Mom out to take a look at it and she took some photos of me holding it.  I placed it on one of the mums and took some photos of my own.  Usually they move so fast.

I spent some time today photographing my projects (finally), the light wasn't ideal, but I didn't want to wait any longer.  I need to start listing things on etsy again.  And I did!

I like this bag.  And I like the two others that I haven't listed yet.  Which is a good thing.  I feel so happy that I jumped into this etsy thing even though I didn't feel totally ready and even though there's still a lot for me to learn.  Waiting wouldn't have ensured that I did everything "right" or perfectly.  It would have just delayed my starting.  And maybe I wouldn't have created as much as I have if I had waited.  Who knows.  All I know is that I'm glad I took the leap when I did.  Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive and enthusiastic about this leap.
