giving thanks

Thanksgiving cactus on my windowsill in the little lavender bathroom

Thanksgiving isn't just about one day or even one season.  It should be something that happens every day.  I know I'm not always good at this.  It's all too easy to be caught up in day to day challenges.  But I'm working on it.  And having a day set apart for giving thanks and taking part in the 30 Days of Giving Thanks with Shannon has helped me to keep an awareness of thankfulness in each day.  So, today, with this day reserved for focusing on gratitude I want to meditate on those things for which I am thankful and send to the universe this small list of thanks

  • for each and every one of you who reads this blog
  • for my family and close friends, even (or maybe especially) in the face of challenges and stresses and friction
  • for my creative spirit and for a recent renewed sense of creativity
  • for my body and my health (too often taken for granted and treated carelessly)
  • for my home
  • for my new job (hooray for books... yes, I'm working in a bookstore!)
  • for dreams and hopes for the future
  • for delicious food shared with loved ones (today and each day)
  • for the changing seasons and the beauty of the natural world
  • for inspiration in each way it strikes
  • for daily miracles

I'm wishing for each of you and day filled with love and peace and togetherness and feelings of gratitude and hope.
