paint party friday!

Just a quick post today for Paint Party Friday.  I didn't work till the evening yesterday and spent the day working on projects, including paintings.  It was wonderful to be able to do that!

The big drippy painting got some circles.

The small square painting got its drips covered up.

I also painted two more backgrounds on small canvases (you can see them in the top photo).

Finally, I painted some of the top sides of leaves in my watercolor of the trachelospermum plant.

I like taking my paintings slowly through many steps.  None of these are finished yet, but I'm having such fun with them.

And as part of my month of gratitude, I want to give a HUGE thank you to all of the Friday paint partiers!  You have been so encouraging and supportive and kind!  And an especially huge THANK YOU to Eva and Kristin for hosting the party week after week.  What a wonderful idea and how wonderfully it came to fruition.  You are both an inspiration!

  1. I always love your plant paintings - but the bold colours of the abstract pieces really caught me eye today :)

  2. I really like your botanical watercolor... you have more patience than me. I like to go quickly with my paintings/projects, maybe for fear I'll set them aside & never finish! Nice abstracts as well ~ Happy PPF!

  7. Love the two new paintings, those colors are so vibrant. And I really am always impressed with your watercolors. The time and care you take in painting each of those leaves just amazes me. I would quit after about three leaves, I'm sure.

And your new banner is really lovely, you and the hubby look super cute together.
