playing, dreaming, doing

Hello there. How are you doing today?

I've been having fun playing with Hipstamatic.

It's fun to switch around the films and lenses.

And I'm digging the black and white.

And enjoying taking random pictures of just about anything.

Having to wait for the photos to develop, never knowing just what I'm going to get can be frustrating, but also a lot of fun.

I'm still struggling with trying to manage my time. I'm completely astounded again and again by how quickly the days pass while I seem to be moving in slow motion. It doesn't help that lately I've had a few days of feeling icky and some days of being in completely wretched moods (I even slipped and fell in a parking lot, scraping up both my knees). Is the universe trying to tell me something? Am I doing a crap job of listening?

I am full, full, full of ideas and dreams and I'm trying to buckle down and DO instead of just dream because although dreams are a good thing (remember this post?), they are not enough. I think about an Irish proverb that my friend Karen shared on her blog months ago:

"You'll never plow a field by turning it over in your mind."

Time to get out the plow.

Wishing you a beautiful, Joy-filled day today!

  1. Great photos Anne. I am digging the black and white too! I am sorry to hear that you have being feeling unwell. I also sympathise with trying to get things done whilst moving in slow motion and the days slipping away. I think the universe may be telling you to slow down and not to overdo it! Take time to savour all that you have achieved this year before getting out that plow!!! :-)

  2. I also think of this saying quite often. Those dark days can get such a grip. I think it would be nice to have a dog to attach to a leash to and get out with and walk away such moods. I go out and interact with the chickens instead.
You always had a way with black and white photos, Anne. Good to see you playing with that again.

  3. Hi Anne!
Those pictures in black and white are fantastic!
...so I wish you a good job with "plowing your field"! (I don't know if I can say it in English, but I hope you'll understand what I mean!). :)

  4. Great shots Anne! Love the black and white too! You seem to be getting a sign to slow down, take it easy. I have been there with the feeling of wanting to do so much and feeling like time is slipping by. I don't know exactly the best way to get past that but for me slowing down has helped tons. xox

  5. Oh, I love that quote and could apply it to myself!
What gorgeous photos. The black and whites are truly pieces of art. I guess we are always so inundated with color a black and white photograph just seems so etherial and soothing. I think other comments here say it all - listen to the messages the universe is sending, slow down and appreciate all that you have done. Your dreams will be realized in due time.

This quote was posted over at one of my favorite blogs this morning...

Anne, I think life is all about finding the balance between slowing down AND working to actualize our dreams. I usually end up trying to find that sweet spot in the present moment.

I love sharing the challenge with you and other blogging buddies. xo
