California, Part 2 -- Coast

I went to Monterey on one of the days I spent exploring alone. I saw my first wild seals.

And as I drove along the coast of the peninsula, I stopped at a beach where people were surfing (and not having an easy time of it). Even though it was a bit chilly and drizzly, I had fun poking around on the beaches.

And was amazed by how alien it looked with the huge aloe hedges along the road.

The weather was beautiful on the day that Matthias and I drove down the coast from around Santa Cruz to just past big Sur. The views were amazing.

Those colors!

If we hadn't been under time constraints it would have be fun to keep driving down the coast.

I have one more California post planned and then it's back to my usual posts. Thanks for reading; I hope you're having a wonderful day!

  3. Fantastic photos Anne. How wonderful to get so close to wild seals. Have you thought about painting them? It must have been fun exploring alone but knowing that Matthias was nearby too.
