30 days, day 5

These paintings are piled up in my studio. I was thinking about hanging them. I loved creating them. I have ideas and ideas and ideas for more, but somehow painting just hasn't been happening lately. Instead I've been doing other things. Entropy is not my friend. Even on days when I've declared, "forget about cleaning!" I end up getting out the vacuum or a bucket of soapy water. Seems like I'm practicing some avoidance.

  1. Beautiful colours Anne, I'd love to see them hung en masse! I know the feeling about painting avoidance too! S:)

  2. I can neither create or get out the mop and bucket. Sometimes I just freeze! Now you have cleaned, put up the lovely paintings in your studio!

  4. Hi Anne! I love this challenge - both on your blog and on Flora's blog. I've been feeling my blog is a chore lately too. My subjects and the days I post seem to be on endless repeat. I'm going to give your "post simply" idea some thought while I'm out of town this week. Maybe its time to shake things up, like the spring breeze that's blowing around the blossoms. Have a great week!

  5. I am where Simone said, frozen. I feel like I can't even think. I do think the cleaning can be part of the creative process. I know for me it gives me mental room to think and incubate an idea, plus I simply can't create if the house is messy. I feel like the creative energy doesn't flow.

  6. Do not worry Anne, you will feel painting again. You just need time and space for it. It will come, I am sure about that. Whole creation process is a cricle of life and death. I love your photography. you capture simple tihings in such a beautiful and delicate way. Big hugs to you and enjoy spring!
