crossing off goals and a giveaway

If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook you know that one of my big projects this summer has been designing and creating a calendar from my watercolor paintings. You may have also caught a glimpse of my calendar in my last couple blog posts. This calendar has been a long time in the making. In truth, I wanted to create it before I knew how to paint and once I started my artistic adventure "creating a calendar" has appeared on my list of goals each January. There may not have been a calendar in 2011 or 2012 or 2013, but 2014... yes!

I chose twelve of my paintings that were seasonally relevant and began the design process. I had no idea what I was doing. Matthias showed me a few things in Photoshop (something else on my creative goal list... learn Photoshop) and I began tinkering. And tinkering. And tinkering some more. I tried different kinds of paper to see which would print best. And then I started printing. There was a slight blip when I realized I had given a couple months too many days.

Yep. I even posted this one on Instagram and Facebook. Ooops!

But eventually I had the calendars printed (correctly) and trimmed and packaged, ready for debut at my show.

After the show I photographed it and added it to my Etsy shop, too.

Now, as a celebration of the fact that I've crossed off some of the goals on my creative goals list and as a thank you to all of you who have been so supportive and encouraging in my journey, I'm having a giveaway. Simply leave a comment on this post telling me which month's illustration is your favorite and then next week I'll choose a winner. Or maybe a couple of winners. At least one person will receive one of my calendars. This giveaway is open to all. Good luck! And, "Thank you" to each of you who show your encouragement through blog comments, Instagram likes, Facebook likes, emails, in-person encouragement, etc. It really means a lot to me.

  1. How to possibly choose a favorite? I love your roses and flowers - but I am also crazy for acorns so I guess November is my fave. Besides, you painted them so well!

  2. How generous of you! Congratulations on crossing stuff off your goals list! Thank you for the opportunity to participate!
What a hard decision as they are all lovely, and then I narrowed it down to July and October but since I must pick just one I have to go with October :) Fall is my fave season - especially because here in the tropics is non-existant :( so I try to surround myself with Fallish stuff - all year round!!! LOL!
Have a super week and thank you again.

I think October is my favourite but also September is a close runner :-) To be honest they are all gorgeous so its a tough question.
