stuff

Ugh. I've been down with a flu bug these last few days. I was hoping to avoid all of that this year. But some things (many? most?) you can't control. Being sick puts things in perspective, makes me grateful for my good health.

I also think that getting sick is my body's way of telling me to slow down. There's a message there. Something I wasn't picking up in more subtle versions. But I guess that's just me. Wanting to understand everything. Wanting to read and interpret.

Reading. I've been doing a lot of that these last few days. I've been plowing through Louise Penny's books. I can't seem to stop. I've been watching mysteries, too. Adoring Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. I recommend them both!

Now I am trying not to get overwhelmed by my to-do list. My goal is always to have a relaxing, peaceful Christmas. This year I am especially excited for Christmas. To spend it with my family and Matthias' dad. Cozy and low-key. Food, togetherness, natural beauty.

And so as I kick the last of this bug, I will take things slowly. Listen and pay attention. Enjoy and be grateful.

  1. Hope you feel better soon, Anne. Moving to a new home was a lot of work and a big change…not surprising that your resistance would be low. Sending healing energy your way!
