joy in june -- lessons from greyhounds

When you ask Jude and Charlie, "Do you want to go to the farm?" they dance with joy. While we're there working they hang out in the front yard, a bit bored until one of us goes to play with them. There's plenty of room for them to get up to racing speeds, so much fun to watch. Yesterday evening I joined in on the running. Charlie and Jude thought this was great fun and slowed their speed to keep up with me, running a bit sideways so they could watch me and leap and tag me as we went. I laughed and laughed at this, their pure joy. I think we all need more of this in our lives. Dogs are such good teachers.

When's the last time you played and laughed while doing something entirely silly just for the joy of it?
