Joy List Monday

Happy Monday, everyone. It's cold and dark here this morning. Feeling very wintry with snow in the forecast.

It's cozy in my studio, though. A perfect day for a Joy List, don't you think?

joy list, hand lettering

  • geraniums blooming in both studio windows
  • flower stems forming on my orchids
  • playing with lettering & a fun set of inks
  • a sweet little painting in progress
  • my new (next) crochet pattern in the works
  • the garden ready for winter (and dreams for next year)
  • snow in the forecast
  • a secret project
and, realized only after photographing my list and starting this post: my 500th blog post. (AND, as long as I'm mentioning crochet patterns... there's still time to enter the giveaway for my first crochet pattern. There's not much competition).

What about you? What's bringing you joy today?

p.s. the book I've been using in starting to play with calligraphy is Modern Calligraphy: Everything you need to know to get started in script calligraphy plus 20 DIY projects for weddings, parties, blogs and more by Molly Suber Thorpe. It was just the type of book I was looking for, instructing in the style of hand lettering that I wanted to try. If you're interested I'd highly recommend it.

  2. Lovely hand lettering Anne. On my joy list today was going for a brisk walk in the autumn sunshine!

  3. Love that geranium, one of my top favorites of all time are geraniums. I love the smell, the shapes of the leaves, their happy green color all year, the little plucking sound the spent bloom makes when I snap it off (and what satisfaction -am I crazy?)... haha and of course I love the blooms. There's my joy for today :) Oh well that and today I collected seed from some favorite flowers out in the gardens! I hope I named them correctly.

Your lettering is simply beautiful. Congrats on the 500th post and your new pattern. I would enter your drawing but I have no clue how to crochet or time to learn. I can't wait to see your new painting and the "secret".
