Eva Shorey -- a Sketchbook Conversation
Today's Sketchbook Conversation is with Eva Shorey. Here's her story:
Hello, my name is Eva Shorey. I like to paint with watercolors.
I've always kept a journal, or two, or three...I don't even know how many I have right now - a small one for my purse when I'm out and about, a "field" sketchbook for my walks in the outdoors, and other sketchbooks for at home...some are for drawing and some are for watercolors - I believe you can never have too many!
I'm mostly inspired by the flowers, trees, and wildlife that I see in my gardens at home. I like to visit parks and explore trails to discover new inspiration.

My favorite tools are my H2 pencils and Micron pens in all nib sizes. I often start with pencils to get an idea down, then go over that with the pens, and if it's a watercolor journal, I'll paint too.
I have a set of LUKAS 1862 watercolors that I use for any painting I do at home (I have smaller travel sets for painting outside and on-the-go).
One of the best things about my sketchbooks and journals, for me, is they're great for looking back through from time to time - I remember projects that I wanted to do and sometimes new inspirations are triggered by old ideas.
If you've been thinking about starting a sketchbook, I highly recommend it! Don't worry about the size/quality/style. Just try a couple!

Thank you Anne and thank you Eva! I think it is time that I bought even more sketchbooks to play in! The snail in 'January' is wonderful and I like the energy in the circle of chasing animals! :)
