Joy List Monday

What do you do when you're not feeling very Joyful? Some days are like that. All of us probably have more un-Joyful days than we'd like. I think that's part of the reason I started with my Joy lists. To focus on the Joy that's everywhere around me. Because it's there, even if I'm not seeing it. Just as even on cloudy days the sun isn't really gone.

  • beautiful weather
  • flowers, flowers, flowers
  • painting
  • the Joy exchange*
  • my upcoming birthday

In truth, it's easy to create a list, even when I'm not in the mood to sing and skip. Try it. You'll see. Or just hug somebody you love.

Works for me.

*the Handmade Joy exchange is now closed. Thank you to everyone who signed up!! Check your email for the name and address of your exchange partner!

  1. Joy sometimes arrives in a teacup rather than a truckload. When you're not feeling quite yourself, try blowing some bubbles (they're not just for kids). Your dogs will love them. Small joys are just as nice as big ones.

  2. Your photos always bring me a lot of joy, Anne! Not a flower to be seen around here! I think I'll buy a bunch tomorrow!
    Enjoy your week!

  3. It's 4:30 am and I'm restless. What to do? Check out daughter's blog. Ahhh, yes. Joy list Monday. Anne is always on my joy list, not always for the same reasons, but always there.
I've just been getting to know my Handmade Joy recipient and see that she has been posting Joy List Mondays for a while now. How many others are able to focus, recognize and name their joys because of this child of mine??? Grace abundant.

  8. Hello Anne.
It seems from the comments that your birthday was yesterday? Happy Birthday! That is a huge reason for joy!

I totally know what you mean, so easy to fall down to the things that aren't joyful but making the list totally helps, all about the gratitude. I love what Wayne Dyer says "Change the way you look at things, and the things you look at start to change.".

I love your photos. So pretty! I am off to snap some of the beautiful magnolias.
    Have a great weekend!
