Joy List Monday

It's a wonderfully sunny Monday morning here. I was away for the weekend, getting together with my two oldest friends. The drive to (and back from) a spot further south in Wisconsin was so beautiful. The fall colors like the glowing embers of a smoldering fire. The weather was unbelievably perfect all weekend long. (And today, too. Blue, blue skies).

I unplugged for the weekend. No internet. No email. No social media. And I think it was just what I needed.

We had a lovely time and it was just as lovely to come home to my boys.

And now in my sunny studio I am ready to tackle all the projects I have ahead of me. Slowly. In a focused way. I think SLOW will be my mantra for this fall and winter.

Joy List Monday:

a weekly ritual
a reminder to stop and pay attention to the little beauties and graces that make life magical and to set aside time for gratitude each day

My list today:

  • gorgeous sunny, warm weather
  • a girls' weekend with my oldest friends (and finally meeting a sweet baby who's fast growing out of babyhood)
  • driving through the beautiful Wisconsin countryside
  • time alone with my thoughts
  • ideas and plans
  • a newly developing collaboration
  • making up new recipes including a delicious pasta sauce made with roasted butternut squash and lots of garlic
  • painting
  • returning to my sketchbook
  • inspirations
What's on your list?

ginkgo leaves, sketchbooks, micron pen, drawing, botanical sketchbook, Anne Butera, My Giant Strawberry

Wishing you a wonderful week filled with many joys!

  1. What a landscape Anne. Slow sounds good. My list of late is:

Playing Twister and Headbands with the kids and laughing like crazy.

Playing a hand clapping game with my daughter last night. Always brings back fun memories of being a kid.

Winning a yarn and tea giveaway on Instagram.

    The sun is shining today.

Using my Lo Lo Bar and it smells soooo good.
